Oregon's Bigby-Williams to play at LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) LSU basketball coach Will Wade says 6-foot-11 Oregon forward Kavell Bigby-Williams is transferring to LSU this fall.

The former national junior college player of the year will redshirt one year before becoming eligible to compete with the Tigers in 2018-19.

In primarily a reserve role, the England native helped the Oregon Ducks advance to the 2017 Final Four.

Bagley hopes to play for Duke in 2017-18

Marvin Bagley III, widely considered the top recruit in the class of 2018, reclassified this week and could be eligible to play for Duke in the upcoming season.

His decision immediately thrusts the Blue Devils toward the front of the national-title conversation for the 2017-18 season.

Clemson back home after Barcelona attack

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) Clemson's basketball team arrived back on campus, a day after a deadly van attack in Barcelona that occurred just outside their hotel.

The Tigers were preparing to play their fourth and final game of a summer tour of Spain when a van drove up on a sidewalk and crashed into scores of people in Las Ramblas promenade, killing 13. Clemson canceled the final game and flew back home as scheduled Friday.

Gamecocks' Felder suspended indefinitely

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) South Carolina guard Rakym Felder has been suspended indefinitely and won't attend classes this fall, another blow to a thinning Gamecock backcourt that reached the Final Four this past April.

Felder's status was announced by coach Frank Martin on Wednesday.

First black ND All-American Hawkins dies

LOS ANGELES (AP) Tommy Hawkins, the first black basketball player to earn All-America honors at Notre Dame and who played for the Los Angeles Lakers during a 10-year NBA career, died Wednesday. He was 80.

Hawkins died in his sleep at home in Malibu, son Kevin told The Associated Press. He had been in good health and had lay down to rest, his oldest son said.

AAC tourney to be at North Texas in 2020

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) The American Athletic Conference will hold its men's basketball tournament in a new arena in North Texas in 2020.

AAC Commissioner Mike Aresco announced Wednesday that Dickies Arena in Fort Worth has been selected to host the tournament for three years, starting in March 2020. That is only four months after the facility is scheduled to open.
